Who am I
I'm Guoliang Chen (陈国梁). Most people call me Lucio.
What I do
I'm a hardware engineer. I design digital logic at the register-transfer level (RTL): I write SystemVerilog, work out the microarchitecture, close timing, and make sure the design behaves the same in simulation, on an FPGA and in silicon.
Outside work I build small tools for myself, mostly to scratch an itch:
- a home server, set up and kept in order with Ansible playbooks
- Glimmer, a URL shortener with a small pastebin, written in Go
- Solis, a web app for keeping track of what I own at home
- PocketControl, a Windows app that drives a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 as a webcam: live preview, gimbal control, joystick
I also do CrossFit. Still at a early stage. actual workouts are pushed here for fun.
I have an Nikon D750 and a Z8. Have a few lenses and occasionally take pictures. I also have some other cameras like DJI Pocket 3/4p and a Lytro illum. Maybe I would start posting photos here as well.
Where I studied
- Syracuse University, B.S. in Computer Engineering, 2021.
- UCLA, Master in Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2023.
Why this garden
I write things down here so they leave a trace: notes on what I'm learning, things I've fixed, and ideas I'm not done with yet. Start at the Main Page.
